The Benefits of Martial Arts Practice
LET US TRANSFORM YOUR MIND AND BODY

This country is a nation known for it’s interest in maintaining good health, fitness and proper diet. However, fewer than 30% pf the people in this country actually work towards achieving those goals. The average person will usually be lured into a gym or fitness center membership and after a short while find it’s too much effort for them to do alone and quit out of frustration or boredom. Also, these are not the comfort zones where people will make friends easily.
Most people don’t realize that the practice of martial arts will provide the very factors that will help them achieve their goals of better health, fitness, and self defense. Also, not to mention the support, long time friendships, and the safety that their defense skills will provide.

1. Fitness:
Our martial arts classes are structured to provide both mental and physical co- ordination, while blending the mind and body to improve the student’s focus, concentration, and stress level. Classes at the American Institute provide up to 30-minutes of calisthenics and stretching exercises before any practice of martial arts. This is necessary to tone and loosen up the body to prevent injuries during practice. The American Institute has a long history of safety on the practice floor. After all, we all need to be able to work to support ourselves or our families.

2.Diet:
Americans eat to much. By following a regular physical martial arts routine the new student will lose stress, and by losing stress, the student will eat less and by eating less, students will improve their weight, health, focus, and develop confidence in their new found abilities.

3.The proper practice of martial arts will come over time transform a student into a fit, healthy, confident, and stress free person. Don’t let inactivity lead you into a short unhealthy lifestyle. Instead, take control of yourself to become the person you want to be.

4. Posture:
Few students in the martial arts realize just how important posture is. Without good posture the body is subject to an assortment of ills. Here are just some of the things an out of align spine can cause. How about headaches, sinus troubles, high blood pressure, muscle tension, weakness, fatigue and a host of other ailments to name just a few.

5.Breathing:
In this country few Americans realize that their breathing is unhealthy. Most people breathe through their mouths. Mouth breathing uses only about one-third of the lungs. Have you ever watched a baby breathe while sleeping? They breathe through their nose. This is called diaphragmic breathing and is the healthiest way you can breathe. You can see their little stomach’s rise and fall with their breath. This kind of breathing insures the full inflation of the lungs, giving the body much more energy.
