Aikido Master Bob Liedke

Aikido/Jujitsu 7th dan, Master Bob Liedke began his martial arts career in 1960 with the study of Japanese judo. Spanning a period of more than 40 years, Master Liedke has studied several styles of karate, jujitsu, aiki-jitsu, and for the last 32 years, aikido. Over the ensuing years, he has modified the basic techniques of aikido to form a devastating self-defense system that could be safely and enjoyably practiced for self-defense, as well as health and fitness. In 1980, he founded the American Institute of Martial Arts, located in New Haven, CT., and is the second oldest continuously operating school in Connecticut.

Some of his credits include:
1985: Aikido instructor for prestigious Yale University.

1986: Began literary career:

Over a period of several years, Master Liedke published over 130 articles in martial arts magazines. He has held the position of Associate Editor for Official Karate, American Karate, and Karate International Magazines. A Contributing Editor for TaeKwonDo Times and a Correspondent for The Fighter International Magazines.

He has written columns for Karate International (Focus on the National Scene), American Karate (Eye on the Martial Arts), and Official Karate (Eye on the East Coast).
He has also written for Black Belt, Inside Kung Fu, Inside Karate, and Karate/Kung Fu Illustrated magazines.

1987: Aikido Instructor National Theater Of The Deaf.

1989: he was inducted into the prestigious society of "The Tao Of The Fist" a brotherhood of veteran martial
artists with more than 20-years experience.

He was inducted into The Professional Karate Leagues "Hall Of Fame" as writer of the year. Also in 1989, he was inducted into The International Martial Arts Association "Hall Of Fame" as writer of the year.

He was inducted into Karate International magazine's "Pioneer's Hall Of Fame."

1990: Master Liedke was inducted into The World Martial Arts "Hall Of Fame" as instructor and school of the year.

1993: Master Liedke produced for Panther Productions a six volume video series called "Safe Escape Aikido" that is currently marketed internationally.

1997: Master Liedke was inducted into the Masters, Pioneers, and Legends, "Hall of Fame."
Master Liedke's name can be found in Sterlings "Who's Who", Colliers "Who's Who", The National Directory of "Who's Who" and also in Executives and Professional's "Who's Who".

He holds the rank of 7th Degree black belt in Samurai Jujitsu, 6th degree in Nihon Aiki-Jutsu(Aikido), 5th degree in Yoshitsune Jujitsu and 4th degree in Kokon-Ryu Aikido.
